ECONOFILM is a financially sound electric in-floor heating system that has been widely used in Eastern Europe, Russia and Japan for many years. Tropix and its South Korean manufacturing partner KS-Korea have developed a version of the system that meets the unique needs of the North and South American markets. That system is ECONOFILM.
What makes ECONOFILM special?
· It generates far infrared heat with advanced inherent self-regulating temperature control. Far infrared heat uses the science of conduction where an object is used to transport heat from the hottest area to the coldest (e.g. conduction electric ranges) which translates into greater energy efficiency compared to convection heating where air is heated and circulated to generate the feeling of warmth.
· It is less costly to operate. ECONOFILM’s unique self-regulating design that reduces the electric power consumed both to achieve target temperature and sustain it ... making it among the most affordable in-floor electric heating products on the market today. Unparalleled energy savings over traditional electric heating systems (20%-80%).
· Its thin profile makes it very versatile. ECONOFILM’s form factor (thin, flat, flexible plastic sheet) eliminates the installation challenges associated with bulky wire-based heating systems. At less than half a millimeter thick, it has a negligible effect on floor height and can be used under floating hardwood floors, carpet, cement and tile floors, and even in walls and ceilings.
· It eliminates waste and is faster to install. ECONOFILM is delivered as a continuous roll and is “cut-to-fit” by the installer, eliminating time wasted by estimating and sourcing “fixed-area kits” or by heating additional areas to use up extra heating wires which can’t be cut.
And maybe the most significant difference between ECONOFILM and in-floor electric heating systems is that this film can be used to heat an entire home – not just the floor ... something that is commonplace in the overseas markets where the film is widely used.
